During the month of April, grade 5 is beginning our study of multiplying fractions with whole numbers and mixed numbers.
In science class, the fifth grade students are learning how fossils of animal and plant remains help us understand Earth's history. At the end of the month, grade 5 will be celebrating Arbor Day with a visit from Mr. MacArthur.
In social studies, we are focusing on the "Life in a New Nation." The students will learn about Lewis and Clark's expedition and traveling West.
In Language Arts, our focus will be on verbs. We will also continue to work on sentence diagramming and daily oral language practice.
